Long Sleeve T Refashion

A cheap thrift store find ($1), long sleeve striped t-shirt, that I refashioned into this adorable mini dress for Marlow. Luckily it was an XL, so I had plenty of fabric to work with for a size 4t dress.

I just cut the shirt apart and used one of Marlow's shirts to make the pattern. I used a strip of leftover white knit to make the bib ruffle, and some cheapo walmart buttons and there you have it.

Topped it off with some dark purple tights and her favorite blue "diamond" shoes, and she was set.

I don't know, think she likes it?

The Kiki Burleigh Diaper Bag Experience!!!

Kiki Burleigh diaper bags are made out of completely WIPEABLE oilcloth fabric. The fabric is designed by Japanese textile designer Etsuko Furuya and printed on linen. Which makes it nice and sturdy. I just love her prints, my favorite ever!

The bags feature an adjustable strap that can be worn on one shoulder or messenger style. The bag has a vinyl bottom, strap, strip across the top and flap adorned with my husbands hand crafted button.

On each side of the bag are lined elasticized pockets, just perfect for slipping in a bottle!

Ultimate Beach Bag

July is upon us, and to me that officially means summer! Long days, lemonade, fireflys, swimming, the beach! I love summer (as do most), especially because I am lucky enough to live within a few miles of the beach. Kiki Burleigh's newest bag is perfect for long days at the beach. The Ultimate Beach Bag is a stylish and very functional bag with loads of pockets and details that make it ideal for packing to the beach, pool, gym or even a diaper bag.

The sides of the bag are outfitted with two large pockets, perfect for suncreens, lunch, or whatever you need to stash.

The pockets are nice and deep, so you don't have to worry about anything falling out.

Inside the bag, on each side are two zippered pockets. Stash your wallet and cell phone, along with anything else your don't want getting sandy or lost. Zip it up and forget it!

Bathing Suit

So, bathing suit season is upon us again! Like it or not, ready or not, it is here! I have been on a serious hunt for a new bathing suit this year. I am having absolutely ZERO luck. So, I have decided to take the plunge and make one myself! My order arrived yesterday from spandexworld.com yesterday! Woop woop! So now I just have to turn these amazing fabrics into something suitable for the beach. Fingers crossed!!!

This is a suit from JCrew that I am going to somewhat attempt to copy. Love the little ruffles. I have had the same old halter style suit for too many years to count, so this year I am going to make the ties cross over the shoulders to the back and tie in the middle. Nothing around my neck this year!

This beautiful fuchsia floral will be the body of the tankini.

This fuchsia star pattern will be made into the bikini bottoms.

This amazing teal dot will be the ruffles and ties on the tankini. I have not had any luck making suits in the past...but my serger is newly serviced and I am ready to go! So, wish me luck. More to come.

So last week I was honored to be featured on the Tom and Tony Show Podcast, which is recorded live at the Globe. Don't worry Tom, I won't take it personally that you think I am not cool enough for California!

If I can steal away a few minutes in front of the computer, there's a pretty good chance that I am scouring etsy. It is just totally candy for me!
