Sew-A-Long

There is still plenty of room in next weeks Sew-A-Long at the Red Doors.  Join us as we sew up a super cute tunic for spring!  The course is aimed at getting you comfortable sewing from a pattern.  So, if you have basic sewing skills (very basic) this class is for you.  I chose a pattern that is simple enough but technical enough for you to spread your wings.
The pattern has several different views to choose from and features a yoke, which is perfect for adding a second fabric for interest.  Below are the three views I have made from the pattern.
They all turned out super cute.  My favorite is the last tunic with the three quarter sleeve!  Come join the fun, the course meets for two, 2 hour sessions.  We have loads of fun, and you will leave with a fabulous new shirt that YOU made and can be super proud of.

Clock here for more information and to register!

Also, check out my Intro to Your Sewing Machine Class for those of you that need to start from the beginning!

Mini Peplum Tee

Found this super awesome polka dot knit at Hancock's the other day and knew it would be perfect for a mini peplum tee for Mars.  I wish I had bought more and made myself one as well.  It was a super easy and quick project.

I just used and old tee shirt for the pattern and cut off about six inches from the hemline.  I added a gathered rectangle for the peplum, and wahlah!  Now, if I could only get her to wear it.  It seems she is developing and adversion to anything mommy makes! What?  Hopefully, it won't last long.

Happy Sewing!

New Sewing and Craft Class Schedules are up!

Didn't get a chance to or missed the Into to Your Sewing Machine class last time?  Your in luck!  The Red Doors has just posted it's new schedule for February.  Intro to Your Sewing Machine is being offered again on Sunday afternoons from 4-6pm, beginning February 10 and running until March 3rd.

Join me as you learn all the wonderful details about your sewing machine, as well as some tips and techniques!  We will complete three beginner projects, and envelope pillow cover, a set of cloth napkins, and a zippered pouch.

Click here for more information and to sign up, space is limited.

In addition, I will also be teaching a brand new class for those of you with some basic sewing experience but would like to begin sewing with patterns.  The Sew-Along meets Monday February 4th and Monday February 11th from 5-7pm.

We will be sewing up this super cute tunic just in time for Spring!  Click here for more information or to sign up!

Also new this month is Craft Lab!  It's a kid based craft session with some sewing thrown in.  The first session meets Sunday February 10th at 2pm.  Come join me and create a couple of cool Valentine gifts!  We will be making fingerprint pendants that you can string and wear around your neck or hang on a key chain.  Also, we will be creating yarn flowers that you will be able to use as hair pins or brooches.  We will be hand stamping the wrapping paper and wrapping them up, too.  So, they will be all ready to gift for Valentine's Day.  Click here for more information or to sign up!
